The Poppy Campaign
The poppy has been a symbol of Remembrance since 1921. By wearing it, we honour those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Each year, the last Friday of October until November 11th –Remembrance Day, Legions across Ontario run the Poppy Campaign. Funds raised provide immediate assistance to veterans and their families for needs such as food, shelter, and medical care.
How Poppy Funds Help
- Educational bursaries
- Comforts for hospitalized veterans
- Community medical equipment, research & training
- Disaster relief (as declared by governments)
- Veteran Services support
- Legion service bureau offices
- Prizes for youth Remembrance contests
Any veteran or dependent may apply for aid—whether a Legion member or not.
All funds are placed in trust in a separate account and can only be used for veteran care and approved purposes. all campaign work is voluntary, keeping expenses low.

Message From Our Remembrance-Poppy Officer
Hello Everyone,
My name is Donna Paquin and I am the new Poppy Officer at Branch 121. I am new to this position so please have a little patience. Last year we reached $50,616.00 from the Poppy Campaign. I am hoping to reach or surpass that amount this year. It will require a lot of help from volunteers and myself to achieve this. I am counting on people that have previously worked on this and any volunteer wishing to help. Everybody counts.
I hope this is a successful Poppy Campaign this year and Lest We Forgot.
Yours In Comradeship
Donna
